If you want to buy a cheap peppermill, you can certainly find plenty of them.  I don't mass produce low quality peppermills, or stain/ebonize low cost hardwood.  I use the finest hardwoods available, African Blackwood being my favorite, and quality workmanship is of the utmost importance to me. I realize the peppermills shown below are not inexpensive.  But the material cost is very high and my margin very low. The mill in the center below is from my aforementioned favorite hardwood - African Blackwood.  To give you an idea of the material cost, African Blackwood sells for $300/board food and this mill was made from a 3" x 3" x 25" blank.  The one on the left, Mexican Kingwood, is both expensive and very hard to find - especially for a 24" mill. Whether you're a gourmet cook or simply appreciate fine food who likes to dabble in the kitchen,  you'll appreciate the quality and simple beauty of a well-made peppermill.

I can make peppermills or combination salt and peppermill sets in the hardwood of your choice in sizes ranging from 6" to 36". If you're interested in purchasing one, Please contact me at 757.816.5622 or by email at
